How family access works

Create Tale supports one shared family workspace with clear ownership, invite flow and shared subscription rules.

Family owner

- The owner is shown first in “My Family” and is the main subscription holder.
- The owner can invite members, manage family structure and control shared access.

Invites and joining

- Members join via invite link from the family owner.
- If a user is already in another active family, they must leave it before joining a new one.

Shared Pro access

- Active family members inherit Pro access from the owner’s active subscription.
- Subscription status is synchronized in profile billing and family-aware feature checks.

Recommended setup flow

1. Set up the owner account and verify email.
2. Add family members and send invite links.
3. Confirm everyone appears in “My Family” and owner is listed first.
4. Activate subscription on owner account to unlock shared Pro features.

How journeys and series work in detail

Use journeys for date-bound travel storytelling, and series for long narrative arcs with flexible story linking.

Journey mode (travel timeline)

- Set trip dates and route, then generate stories aligned to that period.
- Travel dates are highlighted in diary/calendar for quick context navigation.
- Multiple stories per travel day are supported in the trip schedule.
- Journey stories focus on travel context with simplified hidden defaults in the form.
- Existing stories can be linked only when they match journey date rules.

Series mode (ongoing storyline)

- Create multi-episode arcs where each new story continues previous context.
- Keep recurring heroes, goals and tone consistent across episodes.
- Attach existing stories from profile/My Stories to build a clean narrative collection.
- Use series when timing is flexible and the main priority is plot continuity.
- Best for long bedtime sagas and reusable family story worlds.

Safety and parental controls

Create Tale includes parent-focused controls for family profiles and content generation.

Parental confirmation and consent settings are available in the profile.
Email verification and COPPA-related checks can be required for stories involving children under 13.
You can remove your account and related family/story data from the profile security tab.
We continue improving privacy protections and access controls for children’s media.
